After a tough year with a short team and goalie issues Saugerties Bantam B takes the title at the Spring Fling Tournament in North Adams Mass.With the help of Peewee goalie Jacob Kehr the team battled to the championship game Sunday March 18th.The games throughout the tournament were all very close with one goal wins and a few ties to get in the finals.Three games had to be played on Saturday the 17th with little rest in between.The championship game was played against the Troy Albany Engineers who had dominated the team all season.The game was very intense the first period taking twelve shots on goal and only shooting two shots on veteran goalie Carson Bonk.The Team had been on the penalty kill for a total of twelve minutes the entire game but Jacob Kehr had a stellar performance only letting in one goal.Quoted by tournament director Ed Rondeau, "If I had a video tape on number 18 (Jacob) I could run a clinic from it." Saugerties Bantams ended up winning the game 6-1 bringing home a well deserved trophy for Saugerties Youth Hockey.
