The Empire State Winter Games Torch Relay will be making a special stop in Saugerties tomorrow at our own Kiwanis Ice Arena. This will be an amazing sight to see and an incredible opportunity for our Hockey players to experience!

Please arrive at the Kiwanis Ice Arena at 4:30 pm tomorrow (1/30/18). The torch relay will arrive at 5:00pm. Wear your Saugerties Hockey or Skating club of Saugerties Apparel from head to toe as we all become part of this unbelievable experience.

Some of our own youth hockey players will be participating and carrying the torch! You don’t want to miss this!

Saugerties will be sending almost 100 athletes this year to compete including our 10u Squirt Major Team, 12u and 14u Fillies teams, many figures skaters, and speed skaters too.

The Torch relay begins in Manhattan and ends in Lake Placid to kickoff the Empire State Winter Games on February 1st.

Awesome Night with the Junior Rangers

On Wednesday, January 10, 2018, we moved our regularly scheduled Hockey Hut training session to make room for our very first Junior Rangers event.

The New York Rangers hosted  a Practice featuring NY Ranger Alumni Colton Orr at Kiwanis Ice  Arena. They also had NY Ranger Coaches on ice that evening to run practices for our players, which was well over 180 participants. This included players from Learn To Play, Mites, Squirts, and PeeWee's. The players were grouped in to three separate time slots and practiced in an ADM Station based setting. We even had an appearance from our new mascot - Stanley the Stallion.

Check out some of the photos from this event.

Thank You to the Junior Rangers, Colton Orr, and the New York Rangers for this awesome opportunity for our Saugerties players and families. We look forward to our partnership.

Junior Rangers Alumni Practice

Our first Junior Rangers event.

On Wednesday, January 10, 2018, we have moved our regularly scheduled Hockey Hut training session to make room for our first Junior Rangers event.

The New York Rangers will be hosting an Alumni Practice at Kiwanis Ice  Arena on this date and they will have NY Rangers Coaches and Alumni on ice that evening to run a practice for our players, as well as giveaways for all attending.  They would like to have at least 60 players on ice for each session, so all of our players and parents are extremely encouraged to attend this special event.  All Fillies players that are planning to attend, will be on ice with their age appropriate group.

The schedule will run as follows:

6:15-7:10   Learn to Play

7:15-8:10   Mites

8:15-9:15   Squirts/ Pee Wees

*You must register for this FREE Junior Rangers Event
